What Is CuAl11Fe6Ni6-C?
CuAl11Fe6Ni6-C is a high-strength cast nickel aluminium bronze designated CC334G under EN 1982 and supplied by Çorum Bronz as KUPRAL® 6. It is considered where high mechanical load, shock, wear, cavitation and corrosion act together.
Chemical Composition
CC334G castings contain Cu 72.0-82.5%, Al 10.0-12.0%, Fe 4.0-7.0% and Ni 4.0-7.5%. Maximum limits are Mn 2.5%, Zn 0.50%, Sn 0.20%, Si 0.10%, Mg 0.05% and Pb 0.05%. Process-specific limits for permanent-mould castings may allow Fe minimum 3.0%, Al minimum 9.0% and Cu maximum 84.5%.
The related CuAl11Fe6Ni6-B / CB334G ingot grade has different composition limits. Ingot and final casting analyses are assessed against their respective specifications.
Mechanical Properties by Casting Process
EN 1982 minimums for sand casting are Rm 680 MPa, Rp0.2 320 MPa, elongation 5% and hardness 170 HBW. Permanent-mould and centrifugal castings require 750 MPa, 380 MPa, 5% and 185 HBW respectively.
EN does not provide a separate set of CC334G continuous-casting mechanical minimums. Continuous-cast products are evaluated by manufacturer specification, section size, sample location and test certificate.
Typical Physical Properties
Typical references include density of approximately 7.6 g/cm³, elastic modulus of 110-128 GPa, thermal conductivity around 60 W/(m·K), thermal expansion around 17-19 × 10⁻⁶/K and electrical conductivity around 2-5 MS/m. These are engineering reference values rather than EN 1982 acceptance criteria.
Material Selection
The aluminium-rich protective surface film supports corrosion performance, while nickel and iron contribute to microstructural stability, strength, fatigue, wear and cavitation resistance. CC334G is considered when wear or cavitation requirements exceed those normally assigned to CC333G.
Plain-bearing and gear duties require reliable lubrication, a hardened and ground counterface, suitable clearance, surface pressure and sliding speed. The alloy is not described as dry-running or self-lubricating.
Applications
Typical applications include heavy-duty plain bearings, crank and toggle bearings, worm wheels, helical gears, wear plates, cylinder bushes, pump impellers, high-pressure hydraulic internals, valve components, Francis runners, Kaplan blades and seawater equipment.
Manufacturing and Supply Forms
CuAl11Fe6Ni6-C / CC334G can be produced by sand, permanent-mould and centrifugal casting. Supply forms include hollow stock, round bar, bushes, rings, special castings and drawing-based machined components.
CuAl11Fe6Ni6 / CW308G is a separate wrought alloy and is not automatically interchangeable with CC334G without checking the product standard, manufacturing structure and property requirements.
Standards and Comparable Grades
The principal European designation is CuAl11Fe6Ni6-C / CC334G, with CuAl11Fe6Ni6-B / CB334G as the related ingot designation. Former DIN variants are G-CuAl11Ni / 2.0980.01, GK-CuAl11Ni / 2.0980.02 and GZ-CuAl11Ni / 2.0980.03. G-NiAlBz F68 is historical.
UNS C95500 and C95520 are comparable US nickel aluminium bronzes, but their chemical and mechanical limits differ and they are not exact equivalents. ASTM B148, B271/B271M and B505/B505M are product standards rather than alloy names.
Engineering and Quality Note
Final conformity is verified using the current standard, casting route, section, chemical analysis, mechanical testing, non-destructive examination requirements and EN 10204 inspection documentation. Marine, turbine, pressure-equipment and safety-critical projects may require additional project or classification criteria.
